Sewing Skill Center

The sewing center started by Sar Shiksha Sanstha for the women of the village. The center provides training in sewing and stitching, which is a valuable skill in the garment industry.

Sar Shiksha Sanstha, a non-profit organization, after setting up a Computer Center in the village Nangli Sahib, has now taken another initiative by starting a sewing center at the same village, with the aim of helping the females of the area to remove poverty through education. The Sewing skill center that was inaugurated by the Honourable Minister Shri Sanjeev Kumar Baliyan on April 9, 2023 started its classes on April 17h with enrolment of 60 students.

The center is equipped with 25 machines for different types of stitching needs including home, industrial and fashion stitching. Singer India will conduct this training based on Skill India (Government Agency) approved curriculum. It is six-month training with Skill India conducting the examination at the end of the course and providing Diploma certificates to successful students. This training in sewing and stitching, which is a valuable skill in the garment industry, is provided almost free of cost (fee of Rs 100/- per month), this training to women of the village will help them a lot in their economic empowerment and social development. The center also plans to provide sewing machines to the financially challenged women who would start their own small-scale business and become self-reliant.

The Sar Shikha Sanstha strongly believes that education and skill-building can be powerful tools in removing poverty and bringing about social change. Such initiatives are needed in many other villages across India to bring about lasting change in the lives of the underprivileged section of society.
